Dronfield-based Woodlands Fitness Centre is to stage a fitness-themed fundraising event for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The Derbyshire gym has teamed up with two of its members and local residents, Gill and Steve Brown to take part in outdoor Zumba and Pilates classes in the grounds of their home, the Old Rectory, Dronfield, on Saturday 7th May from 1-4pm.
Nicola Gleadall, personal trainer at Woodlands Fitness Centre explained: “We held an outdoor Pilates class at the Old Rectory last summer and had a fantastic response.
“This year myself and my colleague Rebecca Hargreaves wanted to do something even bigger and better and raise money for a good cause in the process."
Rebecca said: “Nicola and I will be leading four different 30 minute classes.
"People can take part in as many sessions as they wish then enjoy a slice of homemade cake and tea or coffee and take a tour of Gill and Steve’s beautifully refurbished barn that they are running as holiday let.
"A raffle will also be held on the day with all proceeds going to Bluebell Wood.
“Tickets are priced at just £5 each in advance or can be purchased on the day for £7. As well as entry to the event, participants will also receive a one-day free trial at Woodlands, a slice of cake and a tea or coffee.”
Nicola concluded: “It’s shaping up to be a brilliant event for anyone wanting to exercise outdoors in a beautiful location, eat cake and raise money for Bluebell Wood at the same time!”
Exercise class details (all times are subject to change on the day):
