Police have been stopping motorists on Penistone Road, and 64 vehicles on Ecclesall Road, amid fears people are ignoring lockdown restrictions.
Spokesman Sgt Louise Kent said: “Armed with our speed monitoring equipment we were able to identify those drivers who brought extra attention to themselves to ask them why they were travelling in excess of the speed limit and also the purpose of their journey.

“Several motorists were stopped and spoken to, although it turns out some people are still travelling without insurance during the lockdown. We can confirm, third party insurance is still a minimum requirement when travelling on South Yorkshire's roads.
“In fact I'm pretty sure it's required on all public roads!”
