Driver caught in farmer's field after crashing in South Yorkshire village

A driver was caught in a field after his car collided with a village sign in South Yorkshire.

The man had been driving a Citroen Saxo which crashed in Brampton-en-le-Morthen, Rotherham yesterday.

Rotherham South NHP said the man was detained by officers a short distance away in a farmer's field.

A spokesman for the team added: "Fortunately nobody was injured in this incident, however the village of Brampton en le Morthen now needs a new village sign."

"The driver has been dealt with for driving offences."
