Drive to boost university courses in social science

Sheffield University has received more than £1 million in funding to overhaul its social science training - creating four new full time posts.

It is part of a £19.5 million national programme to meet a critical shortage of social scientists with the right skills.

The university is one of 15 chosen to form a network of Q-Step Centres, delivering programmes to produce graduates with the skills needed to evaluate evidence and analyse data. The cash will enable it to develop new courses and content for existing courses.
