Drenched and MobilePower win Pitch@Palace in front of Queen

Two South Yorkshire companies made it to the final of Prince Andrew's pitching contest - Pitch@Palace - and won!

Drenched of Doncaster and MobilePower of Sheffield pitched their ideas at St James’s Palace in front of the Queen, the Duke of York, and and global financiers and investors.

And they beat off competition from 13 other finalists to win.

The judges loved the water saving nozzle invented by Drenched which cuts water use by 98 per cent - by atomising water into tiny droplets. MobilePower of Sheffield also won for its mobile phone battery rental firm - aimed at the 500million people who live without electricity.

The victories come after an initial round in Sheffield and a second stage in Oxford last month.

Drenched was set up by Wes Sugden-Brook and Marc Hayes two years ago. The pair worked day jobs and used their own funds to get going.
