The first pictures have emerged of a serious accident in Sheffield last night.
A resident snapped these shots of the accident at about 11.30pm.
A Skoda and Vauxhall collided at the junction of Castlebeck Drive, Harborough Avenue, Hastilar Road and Woodrove Avenue in Woodthorpe.
Crews from three Sheffield stations - Parkway, Central and Birley Moore - were called to the scene.
They took the roof off the Skoda and freed a person trapped in the Vauxhall.
The resident said many accidents had happened at the junction.
"This junction is really bad, I have seen four or five crashes in under a year," they said.
Watchmaster Wayne Harland, from Sheffield Parkway station, praised an off-duty fireman for his work at the scene.
Paul Purcell stabilised the Skoda driver and waited for the firefighters to reach the scene.
"He did a great job," watchmaster Harland said.
The junction has been a hot-spot for crashes, with residents recounting numerous incidents.
"One member of the pubic was saying its a spot for road traffic crashes," watchmaster Harland said.
Firefighters were on the scene until about 1am.
