Dramatic dashcam footage captures moment armed police trap car on Sheffield road

Dramatic dashcam footage has captured the moment armed police surrounded a car on a busy Sheffield road earlier today.

The footage shows three marked police cars pulling over and boxing in the taxi on the A61 Halifax Road, close to the speed camera at Grenoside.

Armed police were also involved in the operation which saw a 36-year-old man arrested over a stabbing in Holbourne Grove, High Green.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating a reported assault in the High Green area of Sheffield that is believed to have taken place earlier today.

"Emergency services were called at around 11am this morning to reports of a man injured in Holbourne Grove, High Green.

"He has been taken to hospital with suspected stab injuries, which at this time are believed to be minor.

"A local man was arrested by officers in the Grenoside area and is currently in police custody."
