Doncaster water park given license for live music and alcohol
A Doncaster water park has been given permission to stage live music shows on its site and for alcohol to be sold on the premises.
Doncaster Council licensing committee has given the owners of Hatfield Water Park the green light to hold live music events, dance performances, play recorded music and sell alcohol.
The water park, which also has a marina, is currently used to host events such as triathlons and for training on water sports such as kayaking, canoeing and raft building.
The proposal to extend the water park’s licence was met with opposition from two Doncaster residents who claimed live music at the sporting venue would negatively affect the lives of residents in the area.
They also claimed it could potentially be ‘dangerous’ for users of the water park.

One resident wrote in a letter sent to the council: “The noise level will cause general disturbances to disrupt and distress the surrounding neighbours, family pets, not to mention the wildlife as the field to be used for parking is home to rabbits, frogs and others.
“Large bodies of water and alcohol misadventure is a recipe for disaster.”
Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust said the park had eight temporary licences previously and the new one would further regulate activity.
