Toll Bar made a slow start and did not get their noses in front until centre Karl Mills bagged the second of his three tries.

From the resulting re-start winger Shaun Carey went the length of the pitch to score.

Mark Roach then added the conversion to give his side a 16-6 interval lead.

Gaz Carey and Dean Roberts added further converted tries before never-say-die Beverley pulled it back to 28-12 with a second converted try of their own.

Mills sealed victory when he rounded off a man-of-the-match display with his hat trick try.

“I thought we did well considering that we again had a number of key players missing which affected our shape in attack,” said coach Ian Tattersall.

“But when we struggle for structure we have an undoubted amount of individual talent that is capable of undoing defences.

“I thought our pack slowly ground down Beverley’s forwards and really started to over-run them in the second half.

“When we played it wide, and gave our outside backs some space, they were too strong and quick for their opposite numbers.

“We are still a bit away from where we want to be but three wins from three is a good start and gives us a good platform to build on.”
