Doncaster salon is top of the crops

A stylist at a Doncaster salon is proving she is a cut above after scooping a prestigious award.

Isabelle Brittain, of Saks Doncaster, blew the competition out of the water to win The Colour Image Award.

The hairdresser beat off competition from hundreds of other stylists across the country to take home the trophy in the annual Saks Awards .

It was also celebrations all round for the rest of the Saks Doncaster team after they came runner up in the Salon of The Year category.

The team are now determined to take top spot for 2017.

Rebbecca Calladine, co-owner of Saks Doncaster said: "We are so proud of Izzy it was a massive achievement for her to win the award and we were honoured to come runner up in the Salon of The Year category, we have such a hardworking team who go above and beyond for our clients so it was really nice that the judges recognised that.

"We are definitely going to try and work even harder making clients feel extra special to win the salon of the year category for 2017."

As well as award glory stylists at the HIgh Street salon in Doncaster have also had a brush with stardom this year, taming the tresses of a host of celebrities and top models.

Award winning Isabelle and Jordan Dey were amongst those representing Saks Doncaster at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham.

Rebecca said: "They loved it and made great friends with Jamie Laing from Made In Chelsea, who we even got to do another shout out to Saks Doncaster as he remembered us from the year before.

"They worked from early morning to late at night getting all looks right and had to re touch all the models and dancers in between the show.

"They picked up lots of new tips ready to use on all our clients."

Isabelle also showed off her skills at London Fashion week doing backstage hair for a showcase featuring up and coming new designers.

Isabelle said: "I loved it and even got a sneaky peak of Paloma Faith."

It's also been an exciting year so for Co-owner Paul Calladine who has been assisting the saks art team and has now been named as an art director .
