Doncaster Rovers: We're all hurting right now - Gavin Baldwin

I write at a time when performances on the pitch dominate our thoughts.

All of us at the football club are aware of the frustrations from our supporters at the current state of affairs on the pitch. We have to recognise that.

Without supporters the club is nothing, without their feedback on or off the pitch we cannot grow, so we must work with them as individuals, as supporter groups or as a collective to help improve the football club. And we will.

We understand that performances of late are far from the level that we as a club and you as supporters strive for, demand and deserve. The results hurt us all as they hurt you.

We now enter the final ten games of the season and we have ten cup finals.

Everyone at the club is now working to find a way of winning games and winning games quickly and to securing Doncaster Rovers’ League One status.

We believe that we need at least 15 points from the remaining 30 to keep us in this league.

Once we achieve that we can then put our efforts into the manager’s exciting plans for the future as he looks to build his own squad of players with their own Doncaster Rovers DNA, philosophy and identity from youth through to the first team.

This is made all the more frustrating because elsewhere Club Doncaster is thriving.

The Dons have had a fantastic start to their season and the Club Doncaster Foundation and Sports College continue to achieve as they improve the lives of the town’s citizens and create employment opportunities for the youngsters.

This makes us all even more determined to develop a football club that we can be proud of that is actively challenging at the right end of the League One table.

I would like to congratulate Andy Butler on being shortlisted for the PFA Player in the Community award. The club have also been shortlisted for the Football League’s Nickelodeon Family Club of the Year which is great news. We will find out if we have won either award at the ceremony in April.
