Doncaster Rovers 'taking it easy' over transfers

Doncaster Rovers are 'taking it easy' in the transfer market currently with Grant McCann willing to wait it out for the right options to become available.

McCann says Rovers have been quoted unrealistic figures for various targets as he looks to put in the final pieces of his squad jigsaw.

He remains keen on adding another attacking option, and The Star also understands McCann is open to bringing in a defensive-minded midfielder.

But he is not anticipating any new arrivals in the next few days.

"There's nothing at the minute," he said.

"We're still having a look and seeing what is right for us.

"We're just taking it easy at the moment.

"If something comes up that we think is going to make us better and improve us, then we'll act.

"But if it doesn't then that's fine.

"At this time of year, it's dealing with agents that want snooker numbers for their players.

"It's got to be realistic and it's got to be right for us."

McCann has added midfielder Ali Crawford and striker Mallik Wilks so far this summer with Tom Anderson and Max Watters signed before he took charge.
