Doncaster Rovers: Rowe targeting strongest run so far

Rovers could secure a third consecutive win for only the second time this season when they host AFC Wimbledon today.

And after a solid performance in victory over Blackpool on Good Friday, Rowe says Rovers are ready to kick on further.

“We want to finish as high as we can, there’s no secret with that,” Rowe said.

“I think we owe it to the club at the minute to push on really.

“We’ve got this game on Monday and it’s vitally important that we’re fully recovered for it.

“We’ll be looking forward to a performance like at Blackpool, and even stronger.

“These games are coming thick and fast now and we’ve got to be ready for them.

“We want to play the way we showed at times at Blackpool.

“It’s about progressing now and getting to a decent level.”

Rovers turned in one of their poorest performances of the season in the reverse fixture at Wimbledon.

But Rowe believes sticking to the gameplan will help them to victory this time around.

He said: “We seem to find a way and work hard when we stick to the gameplan.

“Usually when we lose we look back at it and we’ve not stuck to the plan.

“I think we stuck to it at Blackpool, listening and concentrating and if we do that again on Monday I think we’ll be in a good position to get another home win.”

Boss Darren Ferguson was not anticipating any fresh injury worries following the 2-1 win at Blackpool.

Alex Kiwomya could be back in the matchday squad following a bout of illness while Andy Butler may be included for the first time in two months.
