Here is how we rated Rovers' individual performances at the Banks' Stadium.

MARKO MAROSI 7

Produced some decent saves when called upon and could do little about Walsall's goal.

NIALL MASON 8

His strong start to the season continues. Nullified Walsall's wing play and also got forward superbly

JOE WRIGHT 7

Very strong performance, both in defence and carrying the ball towards half way. Forced the handball which brought Rovers' penalty

ANDY BUTLER 7

Dealt well with what Walsall threw at Rovers. Partially at fault for the goal but more than made up for it with a string of headed clearances.

DANNY ANDREW 7

Like Mason, both sides of his game were strong, particularly in the second half as Rovers established control.

MATTY BLAIR 7

Has no intention of giving up his starting spot on evidence of another strong goalscoring performance. His pace and explosive running gives Rovers an extra edge.

BEN WHITEMAN 9

Another superb all round performance, breaking up play superbly and becoming a key attacking threat. His pass to release Wilks for his goal was stunning and he could have got on the scoresheet himself.

HERBIE KANE 7

After a really strong start to the game it was a quieter than normal performance but he was still a major part of Rovers' all round play.

MALLIK WILKS 8

On loan striker was back to his explosive best, as he showed with a goal and a brilliant assist for Coppinger. Seems to thrive in heated environments.

JOHN MARQUIS 7

Showed good composure with penalty after recent miss. Did a superb unsettling job on the Walsall defence and was a real threat.

JAMES COPPINGER 8

Continues to offer so much to Rovers with his stunning composure. Moved the ball quickly and incisively and his goal was superb.
