Darren Ferguson expressed his frustration as Rovers were held to a goalless draw at Crawley Town.

John Marquis missed a penalty - Rovers' sixth miss from the spot this season - as Rovers failed to turn first half dominance into goals with Crawley keeper Glenn Morris making several key saves.

And Crawley roared back to threaten to snatch the win themselves but ultimately both sides had to settle for a point.

"It's one of real frustration and disappointment with the result," Ferguson said. "But frustration mainly because we've unfortunately come up against a goalkeeper that was adamant he was not going to let a goal in today.

"We were completely dominant, in the first half in particularly.

"It's six penalties we've missed this season which is too many and it's cost us points.

"If we get the first goal we probably go on and win it comfortably.

"In the second half Ian Lawlor has made two good saves, the first time they really threatened us.

"I've seen hundreds of times in games like that where you actually end up losing them because you just frustrated.

"We had two cleared off the line.

"It was just one of those days where the ball wouldn't go in the net.

"But it's another point.

"It's a disappointing result because we wanted to build on Tuesday at Cambridge and take advantage of that.

"But it's another point on the board, we've now got two home games coming up and it's important when you don't win the game you don't lose it.

"It's two defeats in 22 and the boys couldn't give me any more really.

"We tried and tried and tried to break them down and unfortunately we just couldn't on the day."
