Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson will be forced to watch tomorrow's derby at Scunthorpe from the stands after being handed a one-game touchline ban by the FA.

Ferguson has been charged with misconduct for "using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official" after last week's home defeat to Port Vale.

The Scot has also been fined £1,000.

Rovers lost 2-1 to Vale, which at the time extended their run without a win to four games. At 1-0 down Rovers thought they had a decent case for a penalty for a shove on Richard Chaplow but referee Geoff Eltringham waved play on.
