Neil Redfearn’s table-topping side require three points from their last two games to be certain of being crowned champions.

They will win the title, regardless of how they do this weekend, if second-placed Brighton fail to win at Durham.

“We don’t mind when we win the league, we’ll just focus on ourselves and that’s all we can do,” said midfielder Emily Simpkins.

“If we win our games we’re champions and that’s it.

“We won’t take Millwall lightly and it’s away from home. But the run we’re on and doing what we do we’ll go into it full of confidence.

“I’m pleased for all the girls because we’ve been through the worst together, now we’re embracing being at the top.”

Belles were relegated from FAWSL1 in 2016.

They will not be promoted after the club decided that the rebranded 2018/19 FA Women’s Super League - a new, fully professional top flight - was beyond their means financially.

Belles will instead remain in the second tier, to be known as the FA Women’s Championship.
