The 21-year-old striker is yet to feature for Doncaster Rovers after arriving from Chelsea in the summer.

He was diagnosed with the rare autoimmune disorder during pre-season.

“Kiwomya’s coming on, he’ll be on the grass next week. So that’s great news,” said boss Darren Ferguson.

“When I say ‘back on the grass’ I mean doing work with the fitness coaches as opposed to joining in with the rest of the lads.

“He’s come on massively in the last month, there’s been a huge improvement.

“He’s watching the tactical sessions so he understands the position he’ll play in.

“It’s still going to be a while [before he plays].

“A month ago we thought it would be the whole season, we certainly don’t think that will be the case now.

“I feel he’ll fit into what we’re trying to do very well. He’s got that pace and technically he’s a good player too.”

Meanwhile, Ferguson could be forced into one change for this weekend’s FA Cup first round trip to Ebbsfleet United with defender Joe Wright suffering a hamstring niggle - but promised his side will not be far off the one that started at Bury.

Andy Williams is expected to be fit despite taking a knock in Tuesday’s Checkatrade Trophy tie against Scunthorpe United.
