Academy manager Kieran Scarff said: “They have and continue to show the potential we are looking for and they now have a great opportunity to continue to develop.

“They deserve praise for their efforts, but they also know that there is a lot of hard work ahead of them if they are to develop a long career in this industry.

“The awarding of these contracts is another example of the support and commitment being shown by the owners, the chief executive and the manager to develop our own players.

“Next year we will have a group of nine first and second year professionals who will all receive a high level of intensive support designed to give them every opportunity to become and established first team player at Rovers.”
