“All three Hull FC players who turned out for us in the iPro Cup a fortnight ago have been made available to us again as part of our dual-registration arrangement,” said head coach Gary Thornton.

“I said at the start of the season that I’d like some continuity when it came to the dual-reg and (Hull FC coach) Lee Radford has done well for the club this week.”

Skipper Kyle Kesik, who aggravated a shoulder injury in last weekend’s Challenge Cup win at West Hull, is a major doubt and will face a late fitness test today.

But both David Foggin-Johnson and Aaron Jones-Bishop proved their fitness on Thursday night.

Although Thornton, who came across the Old Golds during his time in charge at York, predicts they’ll be the strongest of the ‘new’ clubs this season, he told The Star that he is not unduly worried by their Challenge Cup win at North Wales.

“Obviously you’ve got to give them a lot of credit for coming from 36-16 down,” he said. “But having watched a video you have to say that North Wales – which seems to have a troubled camp at the moment – lost the game rather than them winning it.

“Having said that they’ve put together a decent side.

“They’ve a big pack and hooker Steve Parry is a threat and they’ve got another Welsh international in Courtney Davies at half-back. They’ve also got plenty of strike threat on their edges.

“But we’ve trained well this week and we are looking for a third successive win.”
