A Doncaster prisoner has had an extra year added onto his sentence for threatening a fellow inmate with a weapon.
Thomas West, aged 23, was serving time at HMP Doncaster for burglary when he threatened an inmate with a knife last November.
West, from the Rossington area of Doncaster, was originally hailed for two years and four months but had another year added on after pleading guilty to possession of a bladed article during a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court.
PC Emma Taylorson, from the Prison Investigation Team, said: “West behaved in an extremely violent manner during this incident and deserves to have his time in prison extended.
“The prison investigation team are committed to working alongside the prisons in South Yorkshire to identify criminal behaviour and ensure those involved in it are brought before the courts again.”
