A Doncaster model is to make her final bid for love on hit ITV programme Take Me Out this weekend.

Elena Raouna, 24, is gearing up for her tenth and final appearance on the Saturday night show - hosted by Paddy McGuinness.

The beauty queen, who lives in Norton, is one of 30 female contestants featuring on the latest series of ten episodes which sees single men attempting to find a date.

She has been there since show one - and has still failed to land a date on the show - but says her appearances have attracted suitors to the fish and chip shop where she works.

She said: "Loads of customers have been talking about the show and people are recognising me.

"It's really fun - I didn't realise how many watched it. I keep getting Take Me Out jokes and people asking me out in the shop. It is a good job I have a good sense of humour!"

The show sees a series of single men attempt to woo the same group of girls each week. The girls can say no until there's just one left - and then they get to go on a date with their male suitor.

She added: "I can't say how long I'm there as I can't give away as to when or if I get a date or not."

Greek Cypriot Elena, who works at Harry's - her parents fish and chip eatery in Dunsville - was dubbed Miss Fish and Hips after scooping the title of Miss British Beauty Curve, a modelling contest for plus size models a few years ago.

Elena’s appearance on the show is the latest in a long line of successes for the up-and-coming modelling star.

Since her victory, the former Campsmount School pupil has undertaken a series of modelling shoots, signed up for online clothes retailer ASOS and has also appeared on ITV quiz show Catchphrase and Channel 4 show Coach Trip.

She also had a well publicised Twitter spat with business mogul Lord Sugar who faced criticism after be branded her 'fatty' in a tweet.

Added Elena: "The show has been such fun. Paddy McGuinness is lovely and a great laugh and really enjoyed doing the show with him.

"He's a proper northerner and even sent me a little gift bag filled with sweets. I think let the fish see the chips should be our new slogan at Harry's!"
