A curvy Doncaster model dubbed Miss Fish and Hips is set to come face to face with Mr Chips when she appears on one of the country’s best loved television quiz shows tonight.

Plus size beauty queen Elena Raouna, who works behind the counter at her family’s fish and chip shop, will be doing battle with the yellow cartoon character from hit ITV show Catchphrase at 6.45pm.

And Elena, aged 22, will be hoping her date on the famed programme will be good and right and end in big prizes, echoing former host Roy Walker’s saying, ‘It’s good, but it’s not right’.

Elena, who shot to fame last year after being named Miss British Beauty Curve, has already filmed the show and said: “The day was amazing. I got on so well with all the other contestants.

“I would love to take part in another TV show - I am thinking of doing television extra work next.”

Elena’s appearance is the latest in a long line of successes for the up-and-coming modelling star.

Her road to stardom began last summer after she scooped the Miss British Beauty Curve title - a modelling contest for plus size girls - and since then she has undertaken a series of modelling shoots and has signed up for online clothes retailer ASOS.

She said: “Going on Catchphrase started as an online application.

“Then they phoned me and after a half an hour they invited me to audition in Manchester.

“I went to the ITV studios in London after sailing through the audition process, and I met the presenter Stephen Mulhern - he is such a lovely and lively character.”

Former Campsmount School pupil Elena, from Norton, who still works at her parents’ chip shop, Harry’s Fish Bar in Dunsville, had her hair and make-up done in the same dressing room as the star and also gave an interview to the cameras after the show had finished filming.

Her closest friends Laura Mariott and Karine Benson cheered her on from the audience - but she is remaining tight-lipped about her performance.

“You will just have to find out how I did on the night,” she added.
