Doncaster Knights v London Scottish: Griffiths warns men to expect Exiles backlash

Both sides have something to prove to their respective supporters following defeats in the capital last weekend.

Griffiths expects the Exiles, who he predicted would run the former Premiership side much closer than proved to be the case on Sunday, to be smarting from their heavy home defeat against leaders London Irish and has warned his charges to expect a backlash.

He has also pointed out that Scottish pipped Rotherham at Clifton Lane, won comfortably at Jersey and run unbeaten Yorkshire Carnegie close at Headingley.

“They’ve had some good results away from home and had won their last three league and cup games prior to Sunday so it’s not going to be easy,” he said.

In stark contrast to their form on the road this season, Knights remain unbeaten at Castle Park and Griffiths expects that to still be the case at around 4pm.

“We’ve got a good record against them in recent games – we got a draw down there in 2014-15 when we were battling against relegation - and we also did the double over them last season,” said the Welshman, who is set to make changes to the side beaten at London Welsh with Dougie Flockhart expected to start.

“We know we aren’t playing as well as we were last season – though we are playing well in periods during games - but we are still in the top four and the aim is to keep there or thereabouts until we start playing better because we know when we get it right we can go on a run.”
