Doncaster Knights: Dragons will be fired up for re-match - Heaney

That is the verdict of scrum-half Michael Heaney,

Doncaster recovered to grab a 21-16 Pool 5 win to go top of the group last weekend.

The Castle Park club are currently on an eight-match unbeaten run and Heaney says the squad is focused on maintaining their excellent form in Wales.

“We’d expect them to come out all firing after the weekend,” Heaney said.

He added: “I think as a club in general we’re heading in the right direction.

“We’re sitting top in the B&I group and we’re second in the league, so we can’t really ask for more than that from the first half of the season.

“I think at the minute it’s about staying at the top of the B&I group over this week and the following two rounds. And in the Championship just stay in the top four.

“At the end of the day if we’re not in the play-offs we can’t win this thing so that’s our main focus.”

After the B&I Cup return trip to Newport, Knights entertain Nottingham in the Championship on Boxing Day.

“We’ve got to take it one game at a time,” Heaney said.

“It’ll be a good game here on Boxing Day. I know a couple of the Nottingham lads from home and it’s always nice to see a familiar face.”
