Doncaster Gay Scene Together has donated money to the St Peter’s Church Flood Fund in Bentley after members agreed to donate cash normally used for a festive prize draw to those affected by the flooding of the River Don.

Chairman Kare Beck said: “We organise reunion gatherings at the Diamond Live Lounge for our members and any profits from these gatherings are given away as cash Christmas prizes in our draw each year.

“This year, however, we asked our members to donate the £500 cash prizes to the St Peter’s church flood fund and they agreed unanimously to do this.”

Kare, Candice Cunneen and Sharon Taylor visited the church earlier this week to make the donation.
