“We are in urgent need of donations of anything if anyone can help or know anywhere which can help it would be much appreciated.

“We have just short of 200 elderly and vulnerable people on our system at present with new residents coming to us daily, we wont be able to support them if we cannot get the help.

Group chairman Shaun Kessell has spent the morning visiting a few shops asking for help.

The statement added: “All the residents that we have are on the 12 week lockdown and they can’t get help from anywhere else. They are also not willing to pass their bank details over the phone or internet as they don't feel safe to order in that way, and that they don't have access to the internet.

“This is a huge plea for anyone who can help to help us, we have ran out of funds to order items our self now to help these people.”
