A not so despicable act is being undertaken by a Doncaster firm.
Frenchgate-based Leeds Building Society is supporting Variety, the Children’s Charity by promoting ‘Minion’ themed pin badges throughout June.
The Minions theme has been chosen to coincide with the release of the film in cinemas later this month.
The branch is offering the badges for a suggested donation of £2 until Tuesday June 30.
Colleen Ettridge, Major Accounts Fundraising Manager at Variety, said: “We are delighted to have created a special edition Gold Heart 2015 badge, featuring a Minion. The Minions characters are originally from the film ‘Despicable Me’ - a family favourite on both sides of the Atlantic and this limited edition badge will help to raise funds for children and young people who are sick, disabled and disadvantaged. Since 1991, Variety’s Gold Heart Appeal has been the charity’s signature campaign in the UK and has raised more than £20 million to help improve the lives of children and young people in the UK.”
Martin Atkinson, building society branch manager, said: “I’m confident this appeal will catch the imagination of our colleagues and customers.”
