An alert builder helped recover property stolen from a Doncaster village burglary on Monday.

He was working at a house on Melton Road, Sprotbrough, around 2pm when he became suspicious about two young men seen leaving a nearby property.

When he confronted them the pair dropped a bag which was found to contain a computer games console and games.

Police later discovered the house window had been forced. They are looking for two white men aged about 23. One was about 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with blond shaved hair, and the other was 5ft 10ins, medium build, with short brown hair.

The owners of a house on Dadsley Road, Tickhill, spent several hours in the garden on Monday and went back inside to find a burglar had been in and stolen a box of jewellery.
