Belles, who are bottom of FAWSL1 and without a point from six games, host Birmingham City Ladies this evening (6.30pm)

“It’s important that the whole club, players, staff, fans and volunteers stick together,” said Coates.

“The support means a lot to the girls.

“They talk about it in the dressing room; it doesn’t go unnoticed.

“I’d love to get big numbers at the Keepmoat on Saturday to show the fans what we’re about and hopefully reward them with three points.”

“We’ve got nothing to lose,” she added.

“If we can get a point or a win then it will be a huge lift for the girls.

“If we can get the first goal it will give us the confidence and a lot more belief because we’ve always come from a goal behind. It would be nice to get control of the game by going a goal up.

“From the outside, it looks like we’re taking a battering every week but I don’t think the scores are reflecting the performances.

“We’re in a good place, the girls are doing well in training and we’re looking forward to showcasing that at the Keepmoat on Saturday.”
