A band whose members originally hail from Doncaster have missed out on victory in tonight’s Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.

Firelight, whose members have roots in South Yorkshire, performed their indie folk song at the colourful musical carnival in the Danish capital.

Coming Home picked up ten points from United Kingdom voters and eventually finished in 23rd place with 32 points, behind UK entrant Molly who finished on 40 points in 17th place from the 26 countries taking part.

The contest was won by Austrian transgender act Conchita Wurst who bagged 290 points with Rise Like A Phoenix.
