Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company say they can guarantee that with their forthcoming production of Hello, Dolly!

This classic musical hasn’t been seen in Sheffield for 10 years, although it is enjoying a massive revival on Broadway, with Bette Midler in the title role, and there are rumours of a London production.

In Sheffield, Jane Jefferson-Blythe plays Dolly Levi.

Jane’s been more used to directing in recent years, having been at the helm of EMTC’s popular and successful Show Stoppers concerts over many years, and as assistant to the director in their 75th anniversary production of Betty Blue Eyes in 2017.

She is playing hard to get in the marriage stakes opposite her real-life husband, David Jefferson.

Jane and David are joined on stage by a cast including Sara Hibberd, seen most recently in HHTC’s pantomime and Leah Rhodes-Burch, who is also choreographing Jesus Christ Superstar, which follows hot on the heels of Hello, Dolly!

Foot-tapping songs include Putting On Your Sunday Clothes to watch the Parade Passing By and of course the title song.

Hello, Dolly! is on at The Montgomery, Surrey Street, from March 27 to 30. Tickets, priced £15, are available from G Mills on 0114 236 4487. Full details can be found at www.ellesmeremtc.co.uk
