AN EXCITABLE dog which jumped into a Sheffield reservoir had to be rescued by firefighters.
The one-year-old springer spaniel dived into Redmires Reservoir at Lodge Moor and couldn’t get back out.
Firefighters from Low Edges station were called to rescue the dog which had jumped over a five-foot drop.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “Fire crews used a hook around its neck and some rope and managed to lift the dog out of the water. It was a bit cold and shivery afterwards but it survived. The dog, which was out for a walk with its owner, had jumped into the water over a five-foot drop and it just couldn’t get back out.”
The incident happened at 5.15pm on Wednesday.
