She said her passion for coffee comes direct from her home in Sardinia, Italy, where she first honed her craft.

Lucia and her husband built a thriving coffee bar and patisserie in Sardinia.

They then took their coffee making skills around Europe, including a stint working in Switzerland, before settling in Sheffield when she started working at Nonnas in 2013.

She said: “I find there’s nothing more satisfying than a customer that’s happy with my coffee and my service.

“I’m humbled that customers have voted my skills so highly. It’s wonderful.”

Prior to Lucia’s arrival, coffee has been on offer since Nonnas first opened twenty years ago.

Nonnas proprietor Maurizio Mori praised his colleague for her high standard of work and dedication.

He added: “I’ve never met anyone that works harder or cares more passionately about the coffee served to customers than Lucia.

“No one deserves this accolade more than her.”

The awards aim to honour Italian English people who have gone over and above to achieve in their field of work.
