Do the Great North Run

I would like to ask readers interested in taking part in the Great North Run on September 11, to run with their hearts for national charity Heart Research UK.

In 2014, I pounded the 13.1 miles between Newcastle and South Shields with 56,000 people, caught up in a sea of excitement and emotion.

It was a fantastic experience which I will remember for the rest of my life.

It was tough and it took some training prior to the event, but running for a charity close to my heart helped me to carry on putting one foot in front of the other.

I joined the Heart Research UK team because I support the work to fund local community projects that support people to protect their hearts by living a healthier lifestyle.

Heart Research UK joined the huge crowds that cheered us around the streets.

They also gave me tremendous support throughout the months and weeks running up to the event, offering training and nutrition advice, as well as fundraising tips and ideas.

This is why I urge you to join the Heart Research UK team.
