Dive into wacky Sheffield charity challenge

Have your say

The World Waterbombing Championships organisers are looking for brave recruits to take part in the wacky charity challenge.

Now in its 11th year, the championships at Ponds Forge have raised some £125,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Bombers in fancy dress launch themselves from the three-metre diving platform and are then graded based on their style, splash and presentation by a judging panel which includes Macmillan nurses.

This year’s event is on May 6 and Matthew Twigg, of sponsor Eric Twigg Foods Ltd, said it is well worth taking part.

He said: “We’ve supported the event since its existence and we always like to be involved in any capacity when it comes to Macmillan.

“We won the competition one year and it is a very fun evening to be a part of and we will be attending the event again this May, and can’t wait.

“We hope Macmillan can reach their target of raising £10,000.”
