Discarded disposable barbecues spark fires in Sheffield and Rotherham
Firefighters called out to three fires last night found disposable barbecues were to blame.
The first incident was in Chelsea Park, Chelsea Road, Nether Edge, at 7.55pm.
When firefighters arrived they found a bin on fire after two barbecues had been thrown away.
They were then called to similar incidents on Barbers Avenue, Parkgate, Rotherham and Rustlings Road, near Endcliffe Park, Sheffield.
The cause of a moorland fire near Ladybower on Monday is under investigation but there is some suggestion it may also have been started by a barbecue.
