A spokesperson for Handmade Burger Company confirmed on their official Facebook page that the restaurant had in fact now closed.

"Unfortunately we've had to close our doors at Valley Centertainment," a spokesperson said.

Doubts surrounding the company's future began to emerge in July 2017 when the company went into administration.

A press statement from administrators Leonard Curtis Recovery said nine out of the company's 29 restaurants were closed with the loss of 163 jobs.

However, administrators soon confirmed that a sale had been agreed meaning that the remaining 20 chains would continue to operate.

The announcement meant that Sheffield workers were part of the 530 who had their jobs saved.

Joint Administrator Julien Irving said: “Since our appointment on 6 th July we have worked hard to secure the most favourable outcome for all creditors.

“Despite being unable to propose a CVA, we have since managed to secure a buyer for the business and are delighted that this positive outcome has been achieved.”
