Disabled kids in the saddle

A NEW cycle club for disabled young people is being launched tomorrow at Sandall Beat Community Environment Centre in Sandall Beat Wood.

Doncaster Council, through Aiming High for Disabled Children, has purchased a range of bicycles for disabled young people and different size bicycles for other family members.

The new equipment will be on display at the event, from 11am until 2pm, along with a buffet lunch and a whole host of entertainment, including balloon bike modelling, face painting, a magician, and badge making.

Coun Andrea Milner, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Service, Equalities and Cohesion, said: “This is a great opportunity for young disabled people and their families to be more active together.

“We’re also doing a special offer on the day and any disabled child or young person who joins the club at the launch event will get a free cycle helmet.”
