Devolution is a mistake

Have your say

Giving devolution to Sheffield City Council is a mistake. Their record of spending in the past few years has been a disaster.

Public services have suffered cut after cut. I have never seen so many empty shops in the city centre. They have no head for business.

They will probably spend it by inviting more immigrants to live here, and I’m sure the deprived areas will benefit.

Julie Dore says nothing about business or housing, two of the powers that are being mentioned by Whitehall.

This council has the reputation of being one of the worst in the country to do business with, that is why the city is so run down.
