Police have been taking Derbyshire youngsters on five-minute strolls - to encourage them to walk to school.

Officers stepped out with pupils from Dronfield Junior School to promote the benefits of walking to school.

Dronfield Junior School's car park is currently inaccessible due to building work on the roof - sparking concerns about traffic and parking along School Lane.

PCSO Leanne Dobinson helped set up the walks. She said: "We hope that it will help encourage families to walk to school and in return help ease concerns about traffic both in the short term, during the building work, and in the longer term too."
