Derbyshire: Police raids lead to arrests over indecent child images

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of accessing indecent images of children after police raided several properties in Derbyshire today (Friday, October 17).

Derbyshire Constabulary’s online investigation team joined the operational support unit to search four addresses in Chesterfield, Killamarsh and Tibshelf.

The men, aged 20 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of accessing indecent images of children via the internet. They were questioned and later released on police bail.

Laptops and computers were seized and will be examined by specially trained officers.

Detective Constable Steve Sherlock said: “Downloading and distributing indecent images of children is a horrendous crime. We are committed to thoroughly investigate allegations of this type.

“The online investigation team would like to hear from anyone who has suspicions about child exploitation or information relating to offences of this type. We can be contacted on 101 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
