Derbyshire’s Chief Constable and Crime Commissioner have handed over £5,000 to the county’s mountain rescue teams.

The money was donated from Derbyshire Constabulary funds to mark the 50th anniversary of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation, which is made up of seven teams all run by volunteers.

Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “I cannot overstate the contribution that our mountain rescue teams make to public safety and by extension policing in Derbyshire.

“They assist in the most trying of circumstances, in any weather at any hour.”
