Demolition for old Sheffield brewery

Have your say

A former brewery on Rutland Road in Neepsend will be demolished if permission is granted next week.

The old Cannon Brewery, which closed in the 1990s, is in a derelict state and has suffered vandalism and graffiti, said a report to a meeting of Sheffield Council’s planning committee on Tuesday. The site is ‘not effectively marketable’ to developers currently because of the costs of demolition and potential health risks from asbestos, the report added.

Planning officers have recommended approval.
