Demolition for half-built house

BULLDOZERS are set to be ordered in to demolish a home which is being built on the site of a barn on green belt land without planning permission.

Sheffield Council’s city centre, south and east planning has been recommended to reject a retrospective planning application for the site when it meets on Monday.

Work to build the stone house at the Old Whitelow Farm, on Whitelow Lane, Dore, has been progressing and the stone structure is now half-completed.

The area was used for storing caravans.

Objections to the scheme have been made by Dore Village Society and the Peak District National Park Authority due to ‘harm’ to an area of high landscape value.

If the application is refused, enforcement action is set to be ordered by the council, requiring demolition of the new building.
