Delivery rates in the city above national target levels

Nearly 94 per cent of First Class mail posted in Sheffield was delivered on time between April and December 2015 - according to a report published by Royal Mail this month.

The Quality of Service report shows 93.1 per cent of First Class mail in the city reached its destination the day after it was posted, slightly above the target number.

Rob Jenson, Operations Director, Royal Mail said: “Our postmen and women work exceptionally hard endeavouring to deliver to these demanding targets, which are some of the highest in Europe. We are more focused than ever on continuously improving and maintaining high standards of service.”

The national First Class levels were slightly below target at 92.4 per cent.
