Sir Cliff Richard and a man making sex allegations against him have been left ‘in limbo’ by delays from South Yorkshire Police, it has been claimed.
The veteran singer’s home was raided by the force in August 2014, with the search being broadcast on live television.
Sir Cliff, 75, has always denied any wrongdoing, and has not been arrested or charged.
Former detective Mark Williams-Thomas, who is acting as an adviser to an alleged victim of Sir Cliff, told a national newspaper: “Looking at it from the point of view of the alleged victim and the alleged offender, I cannot see the logic in why it has taken so long to be dealt with. Whilst that goes on, both sides sit in limbo. The alleged victim does not want to do anything that would interfere with any potential criminal case.”
South Yorkshire Police said the investigation is continuing.
