Definition of democracy
In response to the letter from NP Sheffield in The Star on Saturday, the definition of democracy is a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them.
Nowhere in this definition does it say that the elected representative has a mandate to vote as they think is best for the people.
I vote for someone who will represent my views, not the view that they think is best for me
