A motorist was found guilty of damaging a van during a road rage incident.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, November 16, how Bradley Rhodes, 22, of Selly Oak, Jordanthorpe, Sheffield, was convicted at a previous trial in his absence but he intends to appeal against the decision.

Angela Hadfield, prosecuting, said Rhodes’ Astra had blocked the van on the Dronfield bypass and on Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, before a male got out of the Astra and damaged the van. She added three males later got out of the Astra on Occupation Road and threw bricks at the van. Rhodes was convicted as part of a joint enterprise. He was given a 12 month community order with 70 hours’ unpaid work and must pay £1,905.69 in costs and compensation.
