Defective sound system

There was a large public attendance at this meeting, with the Central Library and the Amey contract prominent on the agenda, (December 7, 2016).

The impressive Nelson Mandela room was used as an ‘overflow’ for well over 100 people who wouldn’t fit into the main chamber.

However, the sound system was defective: notes were being passed around urging that council chief executive Mothersole be informed.

I can only describe the interference as being like listening to long-wave on a clapped-out portable radio, using a coat hanger as a makeshift aerial, during a thunderstorm.

I had the mischievous idea that Amey had already been secretly contracted to maim the Town Hall acoustic system.
